Austenitic Stainless Steel Square Bar
Grade 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel, available in a wider range of forms, products and finishes than any other. In fact, austenitic stainless steel is approximately 70 percent of overall stainless steel production. Austenitic stainless steel square bar is not magnetic; due to its high nickel and chromium composition, it is the most resistant to corrosion of all the stainless steel groups.
In addition, austenitic stainless steel square bar provides excellent mechanical properties. Heat treatment cannot be used to harden austenitic stainless steel square bar, although it can be hardened considerably by cold working.

Martensitic Stainless Steel Square Bar
Martensitic stainless steels were designed as a type of stainless steel alloy that could be hardened by heat treatment and would be corrosion resistant - although not as corrosion resistant as austenitic or ferritic stainless steels. Martensitic stainless steel square bar is highly machinable and is known for being wear resistant.
Grades Available:
Primary Elements: Primarily comprised of between 11.5 to 18 percent chromium, no nickel, and substantial amounts of carbon, some martensitic stainless steel square bar includes other alloying elements in small amounts.
