Austenitic Stainless Steel Flat Bar

Austenitic stainless steels are most commonly used. In fact, austenitic stainless steel is approximately 70 percent of overall stainless steel production. Austenitic stainless steel flat bar is not magnetic; due to its high nickel and chromium composition, austenitic stainless steel flat bar is the most resistant to corrosion of all stainless steel grades.

In addition, austenitic stainless steel flat bar provides excellent mechanical properties. Heat treatment cannot be used to harden austenitic stainless steel flat bar, although it can be hardened considerably by cold working.

Grade 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel, available in a wider range of forms, products and finishes than any other.

Grades Available:

Primary Elements: A typical austenitic stainless steel is 18/8 stainless, which is composed of 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel.

Martensitic Stainless Steel Flat Bar

Martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steel flat bar is known for its combination of strength, corrosion resistance, being heat treatable and easily fabricated (when compared to other stainless steels). Besides being used in stainless steel flat bar, martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steels are still used in rod, forgings, wire and flat rolled form as well.

Grades Available:

  • Processed Plate 1/8” through 1/2” thick.
  • Custom lengths available.
  • Custom flats available from any plate grade.
